DOLE
The
chateau de Parthey is situated near DOLE in the departement
of the Jura, our shopping town, 7 km from the house. Linked
to PARIS by the T.G.V. train or bullet train,it is a two-and-a-half
km (?) ride and the ticket without discount (student or
over 65, etc..) is about 50 euros.
Dole is on the bank of the river Doubs, dorninated by the
XIV century cathedral with museums and fine architecture
examples of XIV and XVI century.

DIJON
The heart of Burgundy - rich town dating from 1364 bustling
city, great museums, tint middle age streets, wonderful shopping
and famous restaurants.
It is two hours from Paris on the T.G.V. and 35 minutes away
from the house.

BEAUNE
Beaune is 25 miles from the house and is the capital of the
burgundy wines, The Hospices de Beaune, founded in 1443, are
a must to visit. All the venerables wineries and chateau are
minutes away:
Clos de Vougeot (12th century)
Gevrey Chambertin
Puligny Montrachet
Pommard
etc etc. |
