Your Host - Marie -Christine

Marie-Christine Maitre de Tarragon is an international celebrated artist and sculptor. Her adventurous spirit has taken her throughout the world. With a bold love of life and great sense of humor, she is the perfect guide for international guests. Raised in the Chateau de Parthey, she has dedicated many years in the restoration of this heritage, an ongoing process constantly informed by the historical and cultural context of the place.

Marie-Christine shares her life between the Chateau de Parthey and her horse farm in South Carolina. Her lifelong passion for horses is reflected in her artwok and may be viewed on her website: mc-artandhorses.com

The Parthey Foundation

Each group is limited to 6 or 8 guests in order to give a true immersion experience focused on guests' specific interests. We look forward to sharing the beautiful region of our heritage.

The Parthey Foundation offers exceptional cultural experiences dedicated to a range of activities. Our beautiful, peaceful setting is two hours from Paris and Geneva, near the mediaeval village of Dole. Participants stay in Chateau de Parthey, where the atmosphere is one of a family house filled with boundless creativity, deep history, gracious living and warmest hospitality. As guests of Marie-Christine, participants enjoy un-paralleled immerson in all aspects of Franche-Comté history and culture, a benefit of her deep family roots.

The Valdahon-Tarragon family has been involved in the arts through the generations and to the present day. The current generation includes painters, sculptors, writers and designers actively working in the United States and Europe.

We wish to preserve this heritage for future generations whilst opening up the tradion of artistic endeavor to cultural exchanges. It is with this goal in mind that the Parthey foundation was created.

The Parthey Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and all proceeds go to the maintenance of the house and improvement of studio space.
